What We’re Working On – Week of August 3, 2009

Welcome to another thrilling edition of “What We’re Working On”. Not much new to report this week. I finished up our new game’s event and wave management system which allows us to quickly add and arrange game events (i.e., enemy waves, cutscenes, or even level loads). With that working great, I’m unfortunately having a hard time prototyping interesting enemies. Unfortunately, for this particular game, it’s not just quality but also quantity. Oh well, I’m sure it will come to me.

Shannon is continuing her Cheetah 3D lessons, and seems to be grasping it quite well. She learning a lot of techniques that we’ll be desperately needing for this game, with some of those techniques being some that we could’ve used on Sheepstacker (if I would’ve known how to do it in Blender).

We’re looking to start brainstorming character, enemy, and level designs shortly, hopefully by the beginning of next week. That’s going to be an exciting time, as we’ll soon be able to actually show a little bit of the game.
